I'm signing off with this quick hello. I need to go too sleep. My brain is dead from my day. Sometimes the life of a court reporter is most stressful.

Here is how my day went! Morning: Call from attorney secretary. Needs copy of exhibits I filed with the court. I call the court. They will look for transcript I filed yesterday. I call secretary, tell her of my call to the court. She needs exhibits sooner than I can get them, as I am about ready to start a job. She will call the court and make arrangements to get exhibits. I call the court; tell them to make copy of exhibits, that secretary's office will send someone to pick up exhibits.

Job starts. Immediately argument between attorneys (this I honestly say does not happen often) due to instructing the witness he needed to hand over his file, as his file was not privileged under the attorney/client privilege, as he was not a client, only an expert witness. The witness is not represented by counsel, and he does not know what to do. Arguing ensues, fast! A recess is taken and discussion was held off the Record. The deposition continues in fast manner, objections coming in sideways, backwards, every which way! After a couple hours, the depo ends. I thought my assignment was over. I pack up everything, go to secretary's office who in the morning was seeking exhibits, handed her the printed transcript, then proceeded to the photocopying company to photocopy the exhibits that were introduced during the deposition that had just concluded. I waited for the copies to be made. Got a call on my cell of where was I; the attorneys noticed I must not be coming back, as my supplies were not in the conference room. Turns out, there was a second witness. That witness went as fast as the first witness, objections coming in fast and long. I ran out of disk space on one disk. Ran out of disk space on the second disk (they both already had data on them). Battery on steno machine wore down. Had to plug into electricty. Finally, ran out of paper while fast-talking questions and answers were going on; so wrote without paper, only onto disk. Had to stop proceedings a fourth time to just flip paper over, no time to get out new paper. Deposition continued. A break was taken. My adrenalin wore down. Proceedings started up again, fast. Had to stop proceedings: "Stop, please. My brain has shut down." Had to regain brain, then continued. Apologized for seeming to be unprofessional! This was a very unusual day! In the end, picked up about 200 pages of testimony. It was a pleasant day through all my mishaps! But my brain is played out and I am about to fall asleep. Good night, everyone

And WELL acquainted with the Snicker bar...

It's not something I eat alot as I prefer other chocolate bars but sometimes you just need a Snickers
