MotoGP Legend recognised for services to sport.
Former 12+1 time lower cylinder category World Champion Angel Nieto received an award on Tuesday, with the announcement of the winners of the Spanish ‘Premios Nacionales del Deporte’.
The MotoGP Legend was chosen to be presented with the Premio Nacional Francisco Fernandez Ochoa, a new prize recognising ‘notable sporting careers devoted to the practice, organisation, promotion and development of sport’.
Also receiving notification of awards were tennis players Virginia Ruano and Anabel Medina (Women’s Doubles Champions at the Beijing Olympics) and tennis Grand Slam winner Rafael Nadal.
