Ben Spies Spotted with Repsol Management, Could he Replace Pedrosa in Qatar?


The upcoming round of World Superbike would expect Yamaha’s Ben Spies to be in Valenica preparing for Round 3 of the series. Well Spies was spotted in Barcelona where he was seen by the newspaper El Paiz in a restaurant at the same table of some important Repsol Management. The most important figure spotted at the table besides Spies was Jaume Giro Chief of the Marketing Department of Repsol.
Could this mean that Repsol is looking for new blood besides the Spaniard Pedrosa? From Pedrosa’s residence in Switzerland some discouraging news on his health. Following the operation from the crash during the Qatar Test an infection was found and as a result could keep Pedrosa away from the race track for a couple of months.
With this information now released by MotoCorse.com could be the reason Repsol is now shopping for a new golden boy to support the company image. Since Pedrosa is not healthy to compete for maybe two months are they looking for a replacement rider? We will have to wait a few days to confirm these rumors. Either way it would be huge news for World Superbike and MotoGP Championships.
